Designed by a team with a manufacturing background and an understanding how “great” work instructions can be a true corporate asset through all stages of a product’s lifecycle, our products are well-rounded, out-of-the-box work solutions configurable to your needs both functionally and financially.

We always answer the phones as “Sequence Software” even though our legal entity is FFD, Inc.  FFD exclusively develops and markets software branded under the Sequence and Lockstep names.

We strive to have the very best product in the manufacturing work instruction arena.  That means we may not incorporate features sometimes requested by customers if they belong in a different class of software.  We seek in integrate Sequence with other “best-in-breed” solutions rather than being a solution that is a mile wide and an inch deep.

A Brief History of Sequence Software

FFD was founded in 2003 to pursue the development, marketing and sales of Sequence Enterprise Software. 

Developed for Windows® using Microsoft’s .Net Framework, Sequence is built on extensive market research and close working relationships with high-tech manufacturing organizations.  These relationships allowed a solid understanding of our customers and helped define the key software features. 

MRPUltra was released around 2006 to leverage foundational data managed in ERP or MRP systems.  With the database approach there is no need for dual entry and syncing of BoM or routing information in two systems.  This add-on quickly became a popular “must have” for customers.

FFD launched LockStep desktop software in February of 2009 in response to global economic conditions. LockStep bridged the gap for companies that needed to get started with a work instruction solution but are currently limited by either size or economics.

Continuing with the theme of integrating rather than incorporating, Sequence chose in 2010 to develop a module which integrates Sequence with MES solutions.  MES solutions have evolved to be very specific for different industries and styles of manufacturing.  Rather than developing MES functionality to address one style we opted to develop an integration module that allows Sequence to integrate with the widest range of MES solutions.
